THE ICONIC Returns Australia: Exchanges, Refunds and Return Labels

THE ICONIC offers eligible Australian customers free change-of-mind returns within 30 days of purchase, not 30 days from delivery. To use this voluntary policy, return eligible unworn and unused items through the account that placed the order, keep original tags attached and retain required packaging. Some Final Sale and hygiene-related products are excluded, while certain collection options may carry a fee. Start with THE ICONIC’s official returns policy and check the individual product page before arranging postage. A product that arrived faulty or was supplied incorrectly follows a different assessment route from a simple change of mind.

Work out the return deadline from the purchase, not the delivery

THE ICONIC states that its standard change-of-mind period runs for 30 days from the purchase date or order confirmation, rather than restarting when the parcel reaches your home. This difference matters when a parcel has been in transit for several days or was delivered to a regional address. Look up the order confirmation email and work from the recorded purchase date; do not estimate from the day you opened the package. A longer promotional period may apply where THE ICONIC has expressly offered one, but do not assume that every sale or special event extends the standard window.

Under the stated conditions, start the return from the same THE ICONIC account used to order, and post the item within the applicable timeframe. Keep the item unworn and unused, with its original tags intact and appropriate original packaging such as a branded shoe box or dust bag. Trying clothing on briefly and carefully can be different from wearing it outside; avoid make-up marks, deodorant transfer, scuffs or washing if you are likely to return it. An item that fails the condition check may be sent back rather than refunded under the voluntary policy.

How to lodge a return from your account

Use THE ICONIC’s return instructions to sign in and select the relevant order. Choose the item you wish to return, the return reason and the available outcome, such as refund, exchange or store credit. The return page then offers the methods available for that order. In Australia these can include Australia Post, an Australia Post Parcel Locker return and Parcelpoint by HUBBED. Follow the option and label actually issued for your item rather than creating your own address label.

For an Australia Post return, THE ICONIC says the prepaid label can be printed and attached to the parcel. Where you do not have a printer, the return barcode or RQA number can be presented at an eligible post office for label printing according to the retailer’s instructions. Check whether your chosen drop-off point accepts that particular service. Remove or cover old delivery labels, secure the product and retain a lodgement receipt or tracking reference. A selected HUBBED pickup option may attract a $4.95 fee, so review the choice before submitting the return.

Refund, exchange or store credit: pick the outcome deliberately

THE ICONIC lets eligible customers select an available return outcome when lodging the return. A refund is relevant when you want the eligible purchase amount returned; an exchange can help if you want another available size; and store credit is intended for future eligible purchases. Review the amount, timing and conditions shown on your account before accepting an option, especially if a promotion, gift card or other account credit was used at checkout. If a size is urgently required, an exchange request does not guarantee the replacement will reach you before a particular event.

After THE ICONIC approves a refund, it says each item is processed back to the original payment method, while purchases made using its gift card may be credited to your account as store credit. A return containing several items can result in separate refund notifications. Check the original order and payment breakdown rather than assuming a single bank transfer will cover every item at the same time. If you selected an outcome in error and your return has not been processed, ask support promptly whether it can still be amended.

How long a return and refund can take

THE ICONIC says the return parcel can take up to 10 business days to reach its fulfilment centre, depending on the drop-off location. Once received, an approved straightforward refund is generally processed within six business days, while an item requiring additional review can take up to 15 business days from receipt. After the retailer processes the refund, your financial institution may take up to another five business days before the money appears. These are distinct stages; counting only from the date you posted the parcel can make a normal delivery delay look like a late refund.

For an approved exchange, THE ICONIC says replacement orders are generally shipped within two business days after approval, with delivery estimates varying by destination. Approved store credit is normally added to the account within three business days. You can check progress in your account under Orders and View Details. If more than 15 business days have passed since the retailer received your return and you have no update, follow up through the official processing-times guidance and customer support with the order and tracking references.

Sale items, Final Sale and restricted products

An item bought at a discount is not automatically excluded from THE ICONIC’s voluntary returns. Its support information says sale goods can be eligible unless the item is clearly marked Final Sale or Non-returnable, or another item-specific exclusion applies. Inspect the product page and checkout information rather than inferring return eligibility from the red sale price alone. A marked exclusion changes the change-of-mind route even if the package remains unopened.

THE ICONIC also identifies hygiene- or safety-related restrictions for certain underwear, earrings, hair accessories, selected wellness products and other listed items. The list is not a substitute for checking the product you actually purchased. A beauty item that has been opened or used may fail the voluntary change-of-mind conditions even if the colour is not to your taste. If the issue is a genuine fault or the wrong product was supplied, do not report it as simple buyer’s remorse; use the relevant faulty or incorrect-item process and describe what actually happened. See the official exclusions explanation.

Shoes, clothing tags and getting the fit right

For footwear, retaining the branded shoe box and packaging is part of the published change-of-mind condition. Do not use the shoe box itself as the postal parcel or cover it with tape and shipping labels; place it within suitable outer packaging so that the original box remains saleable. Try footwear on a clean indoor surface to avoid wearing the soles, and keep any dust bags or product accessories together. If the fit is wrong, check the return choice before ordering a replacement pair because stock and pricing may change.

For clothing, leave original swing tags and any return-related ribbons attached. If a tag arrived detached or damaged rather than being removed by you, document the condition promptly and ask THE ICONIC for advice instead of silently reattaching it. If an item develops a fault after normal use, its condition must be assessed under the relevant fault and consumer-guarantee process; a worn item is not automatically barred from every form of remedy simply because it no longer meets the voluntary unused-item rule.

What to do when an item is faulty or incorrect

For a faulty item within the usual return window, THE ICONIC’s faulty-item guidance directs customers to sign in, choose Returns, select Faulty as the reason, describe the problem and provide useful photos or video where possible. If the issue appears after the change-of-mind period, contact Customer Service to ask about the correct next step. The retailer can assess the product and explain the applicable remedy; do not describe damage caused by misuse as a manufacturing defect.

The Australian Consumer Law may provide remedies when goods do not meet consumer guarantees, depending on the facts. A voluntary 30-day period and a Final Sale label do not automatically remove those legal rights. The ACCC explanation of repair, replacement and refund rights distinguishes minor problems from major failures. If the delivered product is simply the wrong item, record what you ordered, what arrived and the packing information, and report that mismatch using the account’s relevant return reason instead of using the ordinary change-of-mind form without explanation.

Practical scenarios for common THE ICONIC purchases

The dress arrives late and is not suitable for the event. Check the original purchase date before deciding that you still have 30 days from delivery. If it is eligible and remains unworn with tags attached, submit the return through the account and use the assigned method. A delivery problem may raise other questions; describe the facts to support rather than assuming every delay produces an automatic refund beyond the posted policy.

The trainers are the wrong size but still boxed. Try them only on a clean indoor surface, keep the original box and tags, then use the account to see whether an exchange is offered for the selected style. A replacement order is subject to availability and its own fulfilment process. Retain the return tracking even if an exchange is selected.

A Final Sale shirt has a broken seam on arrival. Do not attempt to force it through the voluntary change-of-mind option. Photograph the seam, keep the order details and use the retailer’s faulty-item assistance. A sale designation and a genuine fault are different issues.

A return was posted but the account still shows no refund. Check whether tracking shows delivery to the fulfilment centre, not merely acceptance at the drop-off point. Compare that date with the published processing stages and contact support with the return reference when the stated follow-up threshold has passed.

Official support and return tracking

THE ICONIC’s official Help Centre is the starting point for current support options, and its account or app provides Help & Contact tools. Keep the email address used for the original order, order number, selected return outcome and carrier tracking number handy. If you chose a return method that you cannot use, do not send the parcel through an unrelated courier without checking how to change your method: doing so can make tracking and assessment more difficult.

This guide independently explains the published Australian process and does not operate THE ICONIC’s returns or customer-service channels. Check the linked policy, product-page restrictions and the outcome shown for your account before sending a parcel.

Does THE ICONIC give me 30 days from delivery?

Its standard voluntary change-of-mind window is stated as 30 days from purchase, not delivery. Check the confirmation email and any longer promotion expressly applicable to your order.

Can sale items be returned?

A discounted item may be eligible if it meets the normal conditions. Final Sale, Non-returnable and other product-specific exclusions can remove voluntary change-of-mind eligibility; a genuine fault should be reported separately.

Do I have to print a return label?

For eligible Australia Post returns, THE ICONIC describes a process using a printed prepaid label or presentation of the return barcode or RQA number at a participating post office. Follow the method shown for your particular return.
